Casa Bedolla

Using materials sourced from the landscape, Casa Bedolla integrates itself into the mountains of Mexico. The stone and concrete dwelling is comprised of two boxes wedged between the sloping topography. Resembling the ridges, its natural facade blends into the backdrop as if it was almost chiseled into the hillside. The volumes sit staggered on the terrain to preserve the existing trees, also creating a central courtyard between them. Internally, wooden ceilings warm the interior while expansive glazing frames in views of the cedar and oak forest and the rugged mountainscape. To further take advantage of the setting, the home’s flat roofs double as exterior terraces offering an elevated view of the scenery.
