Andros Island Summer House

Perched on a cliffside overlooking the Aegean Sea, the Andros Island Summer House blends itself into the rocky landscape. The home is divided into three volumes that are embedded along the sloping terrain, resembling the native settlements of the area. Their use of local materials and traditional methods complement the surrounding landscape to create a harmonious transition between the natural environment and the dwelling. A central courtyard connects the different structures. Free of any barriers, the void affords views of the coastal setting while the buildings provide shelter from the sun and wind.
